Saturday, January 2, 2010. Our house (call me for directions or the address). I figure around 1:00 pm will be good. We'll go ride around some and check out getting unstuck techniques, driving techniques, equipment, etc. Probably some tall tales told as well. Afterwards, we can do a little hamburger/hot dog cook out at the house and visit. Or out in the woods if anyone has a portable grill. BYOB. Looking forward to everyone coming!

Just a thought. It would appear as we have some down time before River Rock. I can't speak for all the members, but I for one have little experience in recovery and tips and tricks for not getting stuck and getting unstuck. I would also be interested in seeing winches work and get a better understanding of some of the equipment that I carry with me (Hi Lift Jack, etc).
What would be the thoughts of doing kind of a training day one weekend and doing some of this stuff? I for one would be interested and I know that we have a large experience base to draw from. I think I can find us a place to practice.

Next club meeting will be Jan.5th, 7:00 at CJ's in Remerton.
Topics for discussion will include: gator4x4 club's invitation to River Rock in Milledgeville, Jan 15-18. Travel and accommodation plans (gator4x4 is planning to stay at Comfort Inn, which is non-smoking, while SGJA is staying at Quality Inn, which has smoking and non-smoking.) (But you can stay anywhere you want......just plan to come.) Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!

Hi all. We had a GREAT day. We met up with Tyler, Rich and Batman at Shoney's for a really good breakfast. Then we went to Burger King at the interstate to wait for gator4x4. No body showed up, so we went to the riverbed with out them.
Guess what???? The river was FLOWING---at a pretty good rate, too. So we decided to leave it alone so we wouldn't have to see the inside of the ER. Or Jeep garage, which ever came first. So, Batman came over and he and Superman tinkered with the Jeeps......put a tow hook on and stuff. Then we went to the river at the end of our road and played in the sand for a bit. So, what turned out as a NO GO for the riverbed, turned into a very enjoyable day with the Jeeps and good friends. Maybe we can hook up with gator4x4 again, soon. But in the mean time, mark your calendar for the River Rock trip in January.

Meeting at KC's in Lake Park. Great food and great service from our waitress, Denise. Always a good time at KC's. The owner, Karen, stopped by and introduced herself and asked how everything was.
Members present: Linda, Jim, Sissy, Lee, Chris, Joan. Lee is watching the weather for rain for our river ride on Saturday. We have invited gator4X4 club to join us. We will meet a t Shoney's in Lake Park at 8:00 and then meet gator4X4 at the interstate at 9:30. Lee will check the riverbed on Friday and post it's condition on the website. River Rock: Jan. 15-18. Meeting up with other clubs. Fifty dollars per rig for the weekend. Lee will check on lodging in the area and what the other clubs are doing. It is important that we RSVP so he will know our needs and plan accordingly. Check out the web site for River Rock and plan on making this trip! Next meeting: to be announced. |

Hi Shane from Gainesville ,Fl. Looked like some of you where looking at River Rock . Just letting your club know we have an open invite to any club or persons that would like to wheel with us. Jan 15-18. Main day of wheeling will be that Sat and Sun. Hope to see ya there. We also have a 85 mile loop we are doing Nov 22 through the Ocala NF. We have maps that you can access off of Gator 4x4s main menu. We are leaving at 9:30 AM from the burger king on Newberry road / Second Gainesville exit I-75 south bond. Thanks Shane

Meeting at CJ's in Remerton.
Members present: Carol, Steve, Brad, Linda, Jim, Sissy, Lee, Chris, Joan, Tom, Dee, Fred and Laura. Our waiter: Patrick (who is also a Jeep man but totaled his Jeep last year and, luckily, was not hurt). Tom brought his laptop to show pictures and videos of the last riverbed ride, but the battery died. He will post them on the website later. Fred's Youtube video pick:" Redneck Ninja".....check it out, no doubt it will be alluded to often. Stickers: Tom has "O No" stickers----Price to be determined. Steve has Jeep club stickers in different colors----Price to be determined. Future rides: Linda suggested a beach ride. Maybe St. Augustine or Huegenot. Interest in a North Georgia mountains ride. Steve will look into River Rock in Milledgeville maybe in February. Tellico is closed until 2011, but maybe Beasly Knob in Blairsville. Saturday ride: This Saturday is the Seafood Festival in Appalachacola. Get with Lee and/or Sissy for further details. Alex and Kimber showed up. And with NEWS. Not only did Scooter get rearended...but.... Alex announced he and Kimber are ENGAGED. Wedding possibly in April. Next meeting to be announced.

Our humble little Jeep club has grown with a lot of new and diverse members. And we appreciate you all.
It seems, though, the first Thursday of the month for our club meetings is not meeting the needs of our members. So, please let us know what works for you for a meeting. At the last riverbed ride it was mentioned maybe the first Tuesday next month, which is Nov. 3, at CJ's in Remerton. But, maybe this is not good for you, maybe you have kids and don't want to go to CJ's. So, please, help us out......what works for you? Remember, these meetings may not be riding, but they ARE fun!

Iam making some changes to my jeep and selling My ARB bumper 500 obo, like new wheels chrome easy to keep clean 550 obo, and a set of 4 used 35 12.5 R 16 mud grapplers 400 obo one has a little less than 1/4 tread the others are at least 1/4. I have lots of pics or can meet up with you to let you see them. If you want the tires and rims you can have them for 800 obo the spare rim has a procomp tire on it.

How about a ride on Saturday, October 24, 2009. We can either finish the Clinch/Echols Geocache trip or make it to the river before it fills again. I"m open for either. They'd both be worth it. So, how about it?
